The Beginning

A former musician, recording engineer, and home audio/video installation specialist, Kevin Moll opened Skylabs in 2016 to bring his passion and enthusiasm for assembling quality vintage stereo components into enjoyable HiFi systems to central Iowa consumers.

The Store

Located in the historic shopping district of Valley Junction in West Des Moines, Skylabs seeks to recreate the stereo shopping experience from the golden era of HiFi; helping enthusiasts of all ages listen to and create their ultimate blend of retro and modern home audio solutions.

YouTube & Beyond

To expand his reach outside of central Iowa, Kevin began publishing weekly educational YouTube content sharing his experiences in maintaining and restoring tired and troubled vintage components for do-it-yourselfers, as well as offering insights on both modern and vintage stereo products.

Piggybacking off the YouTube channel's popularity, Kevin and the Skylabs team opened an online store in 2023 offering new modern HiFi equipment, accessories, and vinyl records.
