A reference direct drive

A reference direct drive

The 7 Series shaped an entire era of high-quality hi-fi culture, and its reliability, durability and outstanding sound fidelity made it an icon in turntable history. That tradition continues today with the CS 718Q, a piece of history developed to lead into the future.

A precise direct drive with ironless air-core coils is quartz stabilized for 33, 45 and 78 rpm, with wow and flutter of 0.05% and double shielding against magnetic interference.

Precision tonearm

Precision tonearm

A carbon and aluminum sandwich tonearm on a twin gimbal mounting delivers massless tracking force for maximum tracking reliability, with a spiral spring for fine tracking force adjustment and an automatic tonearm lift.

The precision-machined headshell includes an azimuth clamp. The CS 718Q is supplied without a cartridge, so you can choose the one that suits your system.

Fine adjustment

Fine adjustment

The tonearm height is adjusted precisely with a rotary mechanism, from +5 mm to -2 mm, and the headshell can be set for azimuth, for optimum alignment with any cartridge from 3 g to 13 g.

An optimized, switchable auto-stop function adds everyday convenience.

The die-cast aluminum platter weighs 1.9 kg, with a full-surface rubber coating on its underside and a heavy Dual mat for resonance damping. The plinth comes in a satin black finish or real walnut wood veneer, on height-adjustable feet with resonance absorbers.

Both RCA and XLR outputs are fitted for connection to a phono input.
