LUXMAN PD-151 MARK II Belt-Drive Turntable
The charm of timeless vinyl playback deepens thanks to our LUXMAN PD-151 MARKII. A new standard in the pursuit of functional beauty. Inheriting the excellent performance and functional beauty of the original PD-151 while featuring a new, highly sensitive original specification tonearm, this highly anticipated model delivers genuine analog vinyl playback excellence.
✨ Key Features
🎵 New LTA-309 Tonearm with Knife Edge Bearing
The PD-151 MARK II features LUXMAN's original static balance type tonearm LTA-309 with knife edge bearing technology developed by SAEC (over 40 years of experience). The machined aluminum arm base minimizes contact area while suppressing unwanted vibration and ensuring rigidity. The S-shaped design employs an H4 bayonet mount headshell for easy cartridge installation.
Beyond basic stylus pressure and anti-skating adjustments, the LTA-309 supports fine settings including arm height adjustment to optimize playback quality according to your mounted cartridge, such as the LUXMAN LMC-5.
⚡ High-Precision Proprietary DC Motor with PID Control
Musical pitch purity depends entirely on platter rotation stability. Our unique sine wave/Pulse Width Modulation power supply provides ultra-stable direct current to the proprietary DC brushless motor. This low-speed high-torque motor incorporates low-acoustic noise bearings and advanced internal construction.
The drive system monitors and maintains speed with Proportional-Integral-Differential (PID) feedback control: Proportional for quick target speed achievement, Integral for fast minor error correction, and Differential for rapid fluctuation control. The motor drives through an uncommonly wide belt for stable 33⅓, 45, and 78RPM playback with ±6% manual pitch control.
🎯 4.0kg High-Mass Platter & Rigid Stainless Steel Spindle
The 4.0kg platter is precision-machined from thick aluminum billet then diamond-cut finished to exact surfaces. Acting as a flywheel with large moment of inertia (0.219t·cm²), it ensures smooth and stable rotation. The supporting spindle is a highly rigid, 16mm diameter hard stainless-steel shaft with bearings at the lower end.
The bearing structure combines a thrust bearing lubricated with PEEK material (excellent heat and wear resistance) and a brass radial bearing filled with organic molybdenum oil that maintains excellent lubricity under high load. Includes special vibration-absorbing rubber turntable mat.
🎨 LUXMAN Functional Beauty Design
The PD-151 MARK II inherits the highly praised LUXMAN exterior design with a 10mm thick aluminum top panel featuring delicate hairline finish. The layout is narrowed down to only the three major analog player elements: tonearm, drive motor, and platter, pursuing simplicity and functional beauty.
Operational controls (power switch, motor ON/OFF, rotation speed changeover, indicators) are integrated into the front panel for highly intuitive operability. The exquisite aluminum top panel combines with matte black lower housing for profound visual contrast. Optional 4mm thick acrylic dust cover available separately.
🔧 3-Step Rotation Speed Switching with Independent Adjustment
Supports three rotation speeds: 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM. With the whole system prepared independently for each rotation speed, fine and accurate adjustments are possible while observing the rotation speed deviation indicator (LED). Each speed can be adjusted independently within a ±6% range.
Rotation speed deviation indicator shows: Normal (solid green), slow (blinking green), fast (blinking blue) at all times, providing real-time feedback for precise speed monitoring and adjustment.
🔇 Advanced Vibration Control Systems
To accurately detect and reproduce extremely low-level analog audio signals, unwanted vibrations are thoroughly suppressed. The drive motor and power transformer are mounted with special damping rubber to prevent interference. The unique underslung structure attaches heavy components to the underside of the 10mm aluminum top panel.
Height-adjustable damping insulators with vibration damping rubber (excellent temperature characteristics) provide up to 5mm independent height adjustment, preventing feedback and external vibration transmission while supporting the entire structure.
