🎯 LTA-710 Original Tonearm Development
Specially developed for the PD-191A is our LTA-710 static balanced tonearm which employs knife-edge bearing technology for excellent initial movement sensitivity. A joint development with the audio brand SAEC, who have been designing tonearms for more than 40 years, the LTA-710 brings many highly regarded technologies to the LUXMAN turntable family.
This fully-fledged original arm design required two and half years to develop. By setting the effective arm length to 10 inches, tracking errors are further suppressed and resistance to vinyl surface vibration effects is enhanced, ensuring even the gentlest musical signals are reproduced faithfully.
⚡ Brushless DC Motor & Advanced Control
The drive motor features an original, high-precision, high-torque brushless DC motor supported by a float-mounted, highly stable and fully regulated large-capacity power transformer upgraded for today's high-mass platters. Our sine wave PWM/PID rotation speed control programming achieves constant and accurate rotation control under various demands.
A high-performance reference clock for speed correction uses a MEMS oscillator with excellent temperature characteristics, ensuring precise speeds and quiet platter drive. The PID system integrates Proportional, Integral, and Differential operations for optimal speed stability.
💎 Heavyweight High-Mass Platter System
The platter is a 35mm-thick, 5.2kg heavyweight disk machined from a single, extremely thick aluminum billet, precisely diamond cut and finished to exact surfaces. Acting as a flywheel with a huge moment of inertia of 0.7t·cm², it delivers smooth and confident rotation with exceptional stability.
The spindle features high-rigidity specifications with a high-tensile strength stainless steel shaft (16mm diameter) and customized bearing system combining PEEK thrust bearing with matched brass radial bearing filled with organic molybdenum oil for stable lubrication under high loads.
🎨 Elegant Timeless Design
The PD-191A features a rosewood-stained solid natural wood front panel with beautiful glossy finish, contrasting with the finely hairline-treated aluminum top panel. By offsetting the motor mounting inside the lower chassis, we achieved a stylish, low center of gravity form with total height 12mm lower than the PD-171A.
Operational systems including power supply, turntable start/stop, rotation speed switching and adjustment are focused on the top panel for utilitarian and functional beauty. An optional 4mm thick acrylic dust cover with cam/spring hinges is available separately.
🔧 Multiple Vibration Damping Structures
The underslung suspension structure attaches main components to a 15mm thick aluminum plate, achieving both high rigidity and damping performance. The motor drive system and power transformer mount on an extra thick bottom plate, insulated with damping rubber for protection from external vibrations.
This comprehensive approach greatly improves the mechanical S/N ratio (rumble) and feedback resistance, ensuring delicate signal pickup remains uncontaminated by mechanical interference for pristine sound reproduction.
📊 Three-Speed Operation with Precision Control
The PD-191A supports 3 rotation speeds: 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM. A reflected LED stroboscope with enhanced visibility pattern allows precise speed monitoring. Dedicated control for each individual rotation speed enables more reliable and precise rotation speed adjustments with ±6% range for each speed.
The stroboscope system, well-received from the PD-171 series, has been refined with improved reflecting strip patterns for better visibility under various lighting conditions, making speed verification effortless and accurate.
