Denton 1S
A Compact Classic, Reimagined for Today. Built on a clean-sheet coaxial point-source architecture — coherent, precise, and purposeful.
First introduced in 1967, the original Denton was Wharfedale’s answer to a changing world: a compact hi-fi loudspeaker that delivered natural sound, fine craftsmanship, and exceptional value. The new Denton 1S carries that legacy forward — but this is no revival. Playful yet technically serious, it punches well above its size, blending heritage aesthetics with advanced acoustic engineering to meet the demands of contemporary listening spaces.
Led by Wharfedale’s Director of Acoustic Design Peter Comeau, the Denton 1S was tuned through extensive modelling and critical listening to ensure the drivers behave as a single unified system — delivering natural, balanced sound with convincing timing, scale, and detail typically associated with far larger loudspeakers.
Coaxial Point-Source
25mm silk-dome tweeter concentrically mounted within a 165mm mid/bass cone — inherently time-aligned and phase coherent for stable, wide-dispersion imaging.
Built for Real Homes
Rear 3/8" wall-mount thread and a Brilliance EQ switch for free-space or near-wall positioning. Stand, shelf, or wall — the Denton 1S adapts to your room.
Heritage Craftsmanship
Classic cloth grille, retro silver badging, multi-layer cabinet panels with internal bracing — timeless British hi-fi identity in a thoroughly modern form.
Three Matte Finishes
Available in Black, White, and an all-new Blue — each a bold, design-led statement that fits confidently within modern interiors.
Technical Specifications
Amplifier Pairing
Compatible with any stereo integrated amplifier or receiver rated 30–100W into 8Ω. The 88dB sensitivity and benign impedance curve make the Denton 1S an easy, forgiving load — ideal for pairing with Rega, LEAK, or Luxman integrated amplifiers.
